You are reading a Microsoft article about getting ready for Copilot, and it keeps telling you to use SharePoint Advanced Management for this and that. You assume it is one more paid add-on you do not have, and you close the tab. Here is the thing nobody puts in bold: if a single person in…
You spent last month turning Restricted Content Discovery on, site by site, to keep the messy ones out of Copilot. Now someone asks a fair question: which sites did we actually restrict? Clicking through Active sites one at a time is not the answer. PowerShell gives you two clean ways to get it, one site…
The admin enables the Restricted SharePoint Search feature to make sure that Copilot does not go to the dirty sites that have not been cleaned up yet, informs the boss that everything is done, and in just one week, the helpdesk has a dozen tickets with the subject of “I cannot find anything using search.”…
A tenant user logs into Copilot, tells Copilot to summarize last quarter’s data and Copilot returns a number from a workbook that he/she wasn’t supposed to access. Your script asks for a column by the name on screen and gets an empty string back. Every column has two names, renaming never changes the one that matters, and Created By is called Author.
Updating a SharePoint list from a CSV fails in three ways, two of them silently: an invalid Choice value is written without complaint, an empty cell deletes data, and one bad cell loses the whole row. With the script that catches all three.
How to report everyone with access to a SharePoint site, and why the two obvious approaches are both wrong – one flags every site as overshared, the other stays silent while the whole company has Edit.
