A content rollup web part for SharePoint news
You want the latest news from across your SharePoint sites in one place on the home page, not just from the current site. Here is a web part that rolls it up.
It has two modes. Point it at a News list for reliable, curated results from one place. Or leave the list blank and give it a Search query, and it falls back to a tenant-wide search that pulls news from every site. Search can be turned off on some tenants, so pointing it at a list is the safe default.
In the property pane you set the layout, how many items to show, and either the news list or the search query. The example reads a News list, so the results are exactly what you put in it.
Content Rollup is part of my open source SPFx Intranet Suite, a set of web parts for a modern SharePoint intranet. Install the package once and it shows up in the toolbox under Intranet Suite.
